As its the last Friday of the month that means one things, its time to nominate an athlete of the month.
April wasn’t a highlight month, after the comedown of the Open, two week break for Easter and no testing in our programming it was a chance for some to take the eye of the ball so to speak, luckily many didn’t.
However, one person upped their game and stayed as consistent as ever but really caught out eye for some impressive displays of fitness.
April’s athlete of the month just had to be Carol O Boyle !! Carol not only is winning our athlete of the month but it one of 5 people to win the 100% challenge which we started in January 1st with over 100 people taking part. Since January 1st, Carol has not missed a single class and her consistency has been rewarded and some as she is a total beast.
Carol is a typical example of the amazing people we have in our community. She joined in September 2016 and was very scared at first and like everyone she pretty much found her first month or so to be extremely challenging, but she persisted and started to enjoy it more and more.
Carol once would have been very sporty and athletic but since having a family like most, life gets in the way and she simply forgot about her fitness and that side of her was neglected badly.
But not even 8 months into her journey with us, she is a women who is completely transformed. Incredibly fit and strong, loving her training and loving life.
Almost everyone who becomes a member here and stays with us for 6 months or longer see’s some life changing transformations, this is not new to us. What stood out for us was the change in Carols attitute from being a little tentative to have some serious determination, so much so that when we where doing a running workout last week she was like Mo Farah and powering through 800m repeats as apart of her workout which she wouldn’t have dreamed off months ago.
Keep up the impressive work Carol, its not going unnoticed.
